IMO it is equally, if not more so, important to find a quality way to mount/install them. I bought some flat plastic panels off amazon which basically sit over the cavernous hole the speaker enclosures leave in the underlying door panel behind the interior door panel. I suppose the idea is the entire door functions as a speaker enclosure now...well it sounds pretty crappy. I lined parts of the inside of the door with dynamat but the sound is just flat and tinny for lack of better words.Looking for a way to modify the original enclosures to be re-used with the 6.5" speakers. I havent cracked open the originals or taken any steps towards modifying them yet, but there has to be a better way than what I did.
